Summary: This thread deserves a "thumbs up" for its crystal clarity about the Fusebox methodology...both past and future. Before the advent of ColdFusion's REQUEST scope, Fusebox copied FORM and URL scopes to the ATTRIBUTE scope to support its heavy reliance on CFMODULE. But in the FB4 beta, CFMODULE is no longer necessary.

Summary: Here's the classic "How does ColdFusion perform compared to other languages?" question. But experts agree that language performance makes little difference and that scalability should also be considered. What does make a difference in the performance of most business applications is an efficient use of the database, caching, and other techniques that move work into a pre-runtime processing mode.
