In "Not a Side Effect?", Michael Dinowitz debated with Sean Corfield on whether a specific coding technique is a "side effect" and therefore a bad programming practice. You'll find out what the term "side effect" means in programming, and whether Michael's CFC concept can really be classified as such.

If you don't like the look of those awkward JRun error messages that ColdFusion will sometimes throw, and you want to make your own custom error messages, you should check out Michael's blog entry, "Change the default JRun error message in ColdFusion".
