Macromedia Unveils Details of New Partner Program

Patrick Morley, head of Macromedia's WW Partner Program, announced the rollout of the new program as of September 19, 2001. Here is what he had to say:

As of October 15, you may apply to the Macromedia Alliance online at www.macromedia.com/partners. It will take approximately 10-15 business days to review your application. Once your application is approved and you have signed an agreement (required to join the Associate and Alliance program levels), you will receive an email with a link to a secure download for ColdFusion Enterprise Server and JRun Enterprise Server. Subsequently, you will receive the hard good CDs."

He stressed that current partners should reapply as well, but that they may do so by going into "Partners Only" and re-submitting it. Once they are accepted into one of the new Alliance levels, they must pay the applicable fee; but the term of their contract will be extended through the expiration date of their original contract. For example, if a partner's current agreement would expire on December 15, 2001, Macromedia will make the new contract expiration December 15, 2002.
