CosMoS Project: What is it?

Jan 15, 2002
Robert Everland is making an open source content management system (written in Fusebox 3). Right now it is very basic, but it allows someone to host multiple sites and to have different looks for those sites. So someone could come to the CosMoS website, download the code, and set up a website with content in a matter of minutes. CosMoS' basic features include a way to upload links, directories, articles, and files.

Robert says, "I don't have much experience myself with a content management system and have had my ear to the ground [for] features that I need to include. Some of the features that will be in future releases are check in, check out, user security, expiring data, and management of meta data. I needed the tool myself so I figured if I need it, other people probably do too." I could really use people who have experience with content management systems and who have time to code for free. I don't mind doing lots of work, it would just be nice to bounce ideas off of people who have experience doing this. We are also going to integrate Tony Schreiber's Simple Message Board in a future release so that you could have forums if you desired."
