UIE Usability Training Program

Jul 19, 2003
Just found out about this new usability course. It sounded interesting, so I thought I'd pass the news on:

User Interface Engineering is running their UIE Usability Training Program in Cambridge, MA, on September 22-24, 2003, where participants will get the chance to solve their biggest web design and usability challenges.

Monday & Tuesday: September 22-23, 2003, 8:30-5:30
Web Sites that Work: Designing with Your Eyes Open

In this in-depth 2-day course, you will not only learn about all the research UIE has uncovered on making usable web sites, you'll see how it applies to your site. You will conduct several usability tests on your site, looking for those factors that will make a difference with your users.

Wednesday: September 24, 8:30-5:30
Product Usability: Survival Techniques

This seminar is "perfect for anyone who is in the middle of a design process -- wanting to know exactly how to build the best design with limited time, money, and resources."

UIE has spent years researching the excellent companies -- those that consistently produce usable products -- and how they separate themselves from the rest. In the morning, they show you the tricks and techniques these excellent companies use and how you can make them work for you.

Then they start "The Game." In the game, you get to do the impossible -- on a team with 4 other peers, you will build a fully working prototype of a real web site in just 2 hours. Then you'll conduct usability tests on that prototype with real users. The team that has the "most usable" interface wins prizes!

A bonus for those who register early: If you register by August 5, 2003, for all three days of the UIE Usability Training, you'll get a complimentary set of our 10-volume report series, Designing Information Rich Web Sites -- normally priced at $2,199! You will receive your complimentary set when you arrive at the course.
