CFUNITED Session: Verity for Fast Text Searching

Jul 01, 2005

Presenter: Raymond Camden

Reviewer: Lisa Wilson

Having managed to ignore Verity Searching to this point, it was very reassuring to learn the basics from Ray Camden. His delivery manner was calm and clear, his slides succinct, and his code examples were displayed in a bold, large font. Clearly, Ray knows how to instruct and deliver material. It's a relief, as the rooms hold over 100 people, some standing in the back.

Ray highlighted the reasons to use Verity for searching and some new features in the version that ships with CF7. He showed how to code to place your data (and files) into a collection that can subsequently be indexed and updated. New features include categories, suggestions and context. If you need to implement searching, Verity is better than ever before!
