Roommate Finder For MAX

If you're going to be at MAX 2005 and need a roommate, finding one has always been a shot in the dark. At least it used to be, until Ryan Hartwich of the Kansas City ColdFusion User Group made your job a whole lot easier. Using the advanced features of ColdFusion MX 7, such as Flash Forms and Flashpaper, he's written an application that allows someone to enter in a profile and then look through other people's profiles to find a good match.

This simple application, from registration to profile to a Flashpaper report of all prospective roommates, showcases the simplicity and speed of these often-overlooked functionality. Many people discount Flash Forms because they may be a second or two slower loading up than HTML forms, but the look and feel that they create are well worth that extra moment.
