ColdFusion Studio 4.5.2: Unable to Connect to Databases Via RDS

After installing the Studio 4.5.2 update, you are no longer able to connect to your databases through RDS. When trying to do so, you get a 'unspecified error' dialog box. Here's why and what to do:
