By default, the Verity Search and Index Engine shipped with ColdFusion 5 will not index the header and footer of Microsoft Word documents (DOC) or Microsoft Rich Text Format documents (RTF) documents. This TechNote explains how to customize the Verity style file (UNI) to successfully index DOC and RTF files.
