You might be getting the following error when trying to install ColdFusion Server 5 on Windows: "The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched. The rpc server is unavailable." The error is caused by a timing issue. InstallShield requires that the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service be already running prior to running the ColdFusion Server installation, and if it has not fully started, the error will occur.
