Macromedia announced that leading companies are turning to Macromedia JRun Server 3.1 to provide them with a fast, cost-effective solution to build and deploy J2EE compatible applications. Some of the major players cited are: Bank of America, Bass Hotels, FAO Schwartz, FedEx, General Motors, Home Depot, Land's End, Motorola, Siemens, Smart Money, and U.S. Surgical. The article cites a Gartner Group study on how many companies overspend on their Java development, and compares the relatively low cost of JRun development.
