Macromedia Launches Streaming Video Service

Dec 02, 2003
December 16, 2003 -- Macromedia launched a streaming video service powered by digital broadcasting company VitalStream, Inc. This new service lets companies deliver video-enabled Flash content without the expense of maintaining their own media servers.

According to Macromedia, "Flash video content enables a better user experience because of its unique ability to include interactivity, synchronize the video to other site elements, play back within the browser, and not deliver additional branding or advertising."

This is a great opportunity for Macromedia to make Flash video more widespread and more widely adopted than it is.
