One interesting fact is that when Christenson resigned from Microsoft in November, he stated he was leaving to join a start-up. Apparently, he was so impressed with the potential for Macromedia technology to "light up next-generation mobile devices" that he instead joined Macromedia (according to a quote attributed to Christenson in a Macromedia statement).
Christenson will be in charge of FlashLite and FlashCast. FlashLite is the small-footprint version of the Flash player that's currently embedded in over 80 different mobile devices. FlashCast is a service that uses a wireless network to push Flash-based channels of information to Flash-enabled devices -- information such as news, stock quotes, and more.
