New ColdFusion MX 6.1 Updater Released!
ColdFusion MX customers will be happy to know that Macromedia has released a new Updater for ColdFusion MX 6.1. When this updater was first mentioned by Ben Forta during his summer user group tour, he had said that it was really a collection of bug fixes that could be installed individually. At the time, Forta said that the full update would not be necessary. Since then, feelings at Macromedia have changed, and Tim Buntel, Product Manager for ColdFusion, highly recommends that all ColdFusion MX 6.1 customers install it. In fact, he says, "Updating is the best way to get your CFMX 6.1 installations up to date and many of the included fixes have not been available elsewhere. We do recommend that all ColdFusion MX 6.1 customers install the Updater as it should enhance the performance, stability, and security of your ColdFusion applications."
Highlights of this update include:
- Updated JDBC drivers (Data Direct 3.3 Build 31)
- Updated JRUN (Jrun Updater 3)
- Updated version of Jintegra (1.6.1)
- All security fixes through July
- Over 60 bugs fixed in ColdFusion.
Note that if you have not previously updated to ColdFusion MX 6.1, you will have to install the 6.1 update first before you install this new update. More information is available at the FAQ below.
