March 2, 2005 -- Jeremy Allaire, one of the original co-creators of the ColdFusion Markup Language and Application Server, has formed the company Brightcove and announced a new venture to bring video content from the Internet directly to TV. Unlike his rival, Akimbo Systems, Inc., Allaire has foregone the use of a "set box" such as is used by the Cable providers. More information can be found on his website, http://www.brightcove.com.
