Anti-Piracy Post in the US Government
Summary by Michael Dinowitz
It seems that piracy has become more of a federal concern. President Bush has created a new senior-level governmental position to fight "global intellectual-property piracy and counterfeiting."
According to Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, American companies are losing about $250 billion (that's with a B) a year in lost sales.
The main target of this post will be China, which is well known for its rampant piracy. The post will also monitor Chinese promises to curb piracy made at a recent meeting.
