Charlie Arehart, CTO and Chief Evangelist at New Atlanta, has announced that he is leaving the company as of March 31st. He delayed the announcement so that people would not feel that it was an April Fool's prank. In his personal blog, he explained that he has no issues with the company that caused him to leave, but that there are other things he wants to do with his life. He did state that he is not leaving either the ColdFusion or BlueDragon communities. He said, "It will be nice to be able to contribute to the community as 'just another member' rather than being seen as a 'company guy.'"
Michael and I would like to wish Charlie luck in whatever role he decides to take. He has been with ColdFusion since its early days and was a big supporter of the language since we have known him. We look forward to seeing his further contributions to the ColdFusion community. My Turn to Move On (From New Atlanta) (BlueDragon Blog, April 2, 2006)
