The Software is Free; the Support is Not.

0pen source software developers have to make money, too. And they've found a way to do it without selling their software. Now SourceForge.Net is opening a new marketplace, an ebay-like system for selling support and services for open source software. Listing in the marketplace is free, sellers can set their own prices, and buyers and sellers can rate each other after each sale. As the marketplace has actually been in beta for over a year now, it opens with close to 700 open source programs, including many top-level products.

Visit the marketplace at https://sourceforge.net/services/buy/index.php. I note that ColdFusion is not listed as a technology. Perhaps if some of our open source project innovators (who are able to do support for their applications) applied, we'd see it as a category. Meanwhile, check out the marketplace and their press release, and look around.
