FAQU 8 Comes Out

In my last news post, I announced that Charlie Griefer was coming onboard as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. Things are happily moving along and we have just published the 8th issue of FAQU, "The Things You Didn't Know You Needed to Know", with an eclectic and very funny cover by Dee Sadler. The issue contains great content from authors like Raymond Camden, Jason Dean, Todd Sharp, Terrence Ryan, Dave Konopka, and many others. The theme focuses on things that are vital, but often unrecognized as such by programmers until they are knee-deep in a project. If you haven't subscribed, or if you'd like to order this issue, you can do so on our secure page.

Jason Dean, one of our authors, who has two articles on security in this issue, blogs about the issue. He is also running a fun "FAQU giveaway" of two subscriptions; between now and this Friday, you can enter on his blog. Thank you, Jason, for your support of the journal. Read his blog for more information.

Fusion Authority Online on the Move

Besides getting on track with our journal publishing, we are focusing on more frequent content on the Fusion Authority website. We'd like to welcome aboard our new Online Editor, Brian Rinaldi. It's mainly due to his efforts acquiring articles that we've been publishing, on average, between one and two articles a week for the last few weeks. He is looking to build up Fusion Authority Online as an active community resource, and looking for short, quality articles that benefit the community. These can be anything from reviews of events, software or books, short technical articles, or commentary on some aspect of the ColdFusion community or programming life. Last week we published a short technical article on "Leveraging Twitter for Social Proof" by Rob Capili. Besides this news post, stay tuned for at least one or two more articles this week.

Call for Articles

Charlie Griefer and I are looking for content for future FAQU issues. Is there something you?d like to write about? Is there something you?d like to read about? Send us your best ideas and we?ll make it happen. You can email us any topic proposals or article ideas.

Our Goals for 2010

Michael and I learned a lot this year and we've been working hard to improve our process and our publication schedule. For 2010, we will try to be more responsive, both to our authors and our subscribers, and to provide the same quality product on a more regular schedule. Happy New Year to all of our readers, and to the entire ColdFusion community, from the entire House of Fusion staff.
