E-Week Picks ColdFusion as Best of Scripting Language

Oct 30, 2000
In a clinical test comparison, E-Week (ZDNET laboratories) built the same website using four leading dynamic scripting products: Allaire Corp.'s ColdFusion Server; the Apache Group's Tomcat, which is Sun Microsystems Inc.'s reference implementation for JSP (JavaServer Pages); Microsoft Corp.'s ASP (Active Server Pages); and the open-source PHP. Of all four products, ColdFusion was picked as the best choice for projects that need to get going quickly, both for its ease-of-use and market-leading development tools. Other recommendations were JSP, particularly for projects that need multiple tiers.
