ColdFusion Lives (Michael Smith)

Yes, ColdFusion has a long life ahead of it. It is a rapid way to program data-driven websites and is a language that is both easy to learn and powerful for experts. Its basis on common standards such as HTML, SQL, ODBC and COM has helped make its five year rule as the king of web languages better. The ability for programmers to add new tags to ColdFusion, written in either CF or C plus there free distribution on the former Allaire tag gallery will help to extend ColdFusion reign. Finally the developer community around ColdFusion is one of the most passionate, helpful and vocal group of developers I have seen. In the final analysis it is this community that keeps Macromedia on the fast track with instant feedback and help.
